Taking up the leadership of the family law team at Mishcon de Reya Private in 2024, Kate Clark is representative of a new generation of leadership.
She tells Spear’s: ‘Family law seems to have, and has had historically, these big personalities, and there are these big names at the top. Then behind them, people that are coming through now who have quite a different style.
‘My approach is collaborative and transparent and I want to raise up those around me. It’s the team target [that matters].’
Clark joined the family team at Mishcon de Reya in 2014 and was made partner in 2021. She has a reputation for her straight-talking, honest and pragmatic approach to delivering advice. One top solicitor describes Clark as ‘a real star’, adding that she is ‘engaging, efficient and excellent’.
Having trained at Fisher Meredith, Clark had successful spells at Irwin Mitchell and Speechly Bircham (now Charles Russell Speechlys) before joining Mishcon.
