Spear’s Review

As managing associate in the family team at Mishcon de Reya in Cambridge, Silvia Devecchi works on complex and high-value cases. Many include issues around non-matrimonial property, tax and business assets, often with an international element. She has a particular interest in advising clients from Italy, as a native Italian speaker herself. 

As a one-time immigration lawyer, she has an extra string to her bow, which can prove useful in cases where family law and relocation overlap. Accordingly, she has built a substantial practice in international cases, dealing with issues of relocation, child abduction and jurisdiction.

Devecchi frequently acts for parents in applications under Section 8 of the Children Act 1989, including those featuring non-compliance and enforcement. She is a member of Resolution and the British Italian Law Association.
