Mark Keenan is a partner in Mishcon De Reya’s private client team, where he also has responsibility for the firm’s private wealth disputes and family teams.

Keenan’s specialism lies within trust and succession disputes that involve offshore assets and multiple jurisdictions, from Switzerland and the Channel Islands to the Cayman Islands and beyond. 

Having established the trusts disputes team when he arrived at Mishcon, Keenan is proud of its performance to date. ‘We’ve developed a reputation for the high-value, complex disputes,’ he tells Spear’s. ‘[This is] either succession or trust disputes, because even within a succession dispute you will have trusts.’ Indeed, over the years Keenan has been called in to help with cases involving asset tracing and recovery, fraud claims and wills disputes, representing both trustees and disappointed beneficiaries.

Keenan attributes his personal success to his level-headed approach to litigious cases. ‘If the merits are not with us, you can’t just go to trial for the sake of it,’ he says.
