Janet Tobin has been a litigator for three decades, gaining her first experience at Lyons Davidson and then Taylor Wessing.

Now a partner and head of the private commercial litigation team at Mishcon de Reya, she acts for HNWs, UHNWs and family offices on a variety of disputes, which often involve multiple jurisdictions and fractious relationships. Whether it’s an issue around a yacht or other luxury asset, or a shareholder dispute, Tobin works to resolve matters without diluting the value of the assets or the business.

She often acts for families after a divorce, a death or a fallout. ‘I think, fundamentally, I just like solving problems. And there’s nothing better than a business that you know is really properly governed, where people are held accountable.’
