Emma Gillies is a partner in Forsters’ private client department, advising HNWs and families on complex cross-border tax and estate planning, with a particular focus on US-connected clients.

She guides clients through succession planning, trust structures, domicile and residence rules, and the UK tax implications of property and investments, often coordinating with US advisers to navigate international treaties and mitigate double taxation.

Gillies has played a pivotal role in numerous significant cases, including the commercial sale of music rights on behalf of a British musician and restructuring the ownership of the controlling and majority economic shareholding in a UK listed company. She has also spoken at conferences, including the International Bar Association.
