‘Truth be told, I fell into family law by mistake when I was a trainee,’ says Corinne Parke, who was handed the caseload of a partner following their resignation. ‘I realised I liked it because every case was different.’
More than two decades later, she is a key member of Keystone’s family team, advising on a broad range of family law matters, with a specialism in acting for clients involved in farming and agriculture.
‘The family farm is a business in its own right, which comes with its own complications,’ she tells Spear’s. ‘Often, the farm has been inherited prior to marriage, so we’re trying to protect and ring-fence those assets.’
While no stranger to the courtroom, Parke is a qualified mediator and collaborative lawyer who actively encourages non-court dispute resolution. ‘There are a lot of hybrid solutions that I encourage so that we don’t need to go through the cost and stress of a lengthy court process,’ she explains.
