Family lawyer Richard Hogwood has particular expertise and experience in financial matters. He joined Slaughter and May in 1999 and worked at the Magic Circle firm as a corporate tax lawyer. Subsequently, he spent nine years as a private client tax and trusts lawyer at Charles Russell Speechlys. He is now a partner at Stewarts in the family law team, focusing on the financial aspects of divorce and civil partnership dissolution.

When dealing with family cases he is always sensitive to the human aspect, ensuring that clients have ‘the ability to move on with life when the legal process is over’. Hogwood says he also gets tangible results, both financially and personally, for his clients.

He has clients of all backgrounds and from all around the world, including France, the US, the UAE and Sweden. He has also represented Prince Louis of Luxembourg, for whom Hogwood helped secure reporting restrictions on divorce and financial remedy proceedings that took place in London.
