Lluis Jauma Costa was inspired to pursue wealth management after struggling with his own inheritance as a child. ‘Since I was 10 years old, I had to learn how to manage my own wealth’ he says. Combined with growing up during a financial crisis in Mexico, he ‘really needed to know how to deal with these [financial] situations’.

The UBS managing director is now based in Geneva and covers the Spanish, Portuguese and Andorran markets. Typically, he works with families who are looking to maintain their wealth through a series of offshore investments. 

Jauma Costa’s two decades in finance have prepared him to work with clients who tend to be entrepreneurial and seek open communication. ‘My first step when I have a new client is to sit with them and see what it is they need’, he tells Spear’s. ‘Wealth planning is the starting point.’
