Declan Selbo is a partner at Knight Frank St John’s Wood. He describes the office as a busy space ‘with a significant amount of transactions’ involving properties valued at £5 million and above, largely coming from buyers who are starting to move away from the golden postcodes (Mayfair, Belgravia, Knightsbridge, Chelsea and Kensington).

Selbo began his career in forex trading before becoming disillusioned with the ‘very binary, very high numbers-based’ game it began to look like. He joined Knight Frank in 2015, attracted by the sense of community the real estate world exuded, and it quickly became home for him. 

He familiarised himself with both the prime and the super-prime brackets of sales, and the deals began to arrive at his desk. ‘I guess I didn’t look back,’ he tells Spear’s, adding that he is now ‘part of the furniture’ at the global firm when it comes to high-value transactions in north-west London.
