Established in 2016, Knight Frank’s super-prime lettings team is a small-yet-mighty group of four partners that oversees some of the most expensive rentals in London. Heading the team up is Tom Smith, who handles rentals from £5,000 per week – with no upper limit.

Of the transactions Smith works on, 70 per cent are off-market, a trend he believes will continue to grow. He tells Spear’s: ‘If you’re trawling through websites and portals, you don’t get a true flavour of what is really trading throughout prime central London.’

He notes that discretion is at the forefront of his mind when supporting HNW clients.

‘Unlike the sales market, lettings can be completely off-market, because at some point the title of a purchased property will be updated, while from a rental perspective, there is no transfer of title,’ he explains.
