A partner in Farrer & Co’s private wealth team since 2020, Georgina James advises international UHNW families, trusts and family offices on cross-border taxation and estate planning issues, including the organisation, structure and deployment of private capital for business, investment or philanthropic purposes.

She works closely with UHNW families and their advisers to establish asset holding and governance structures for family businesses and other strategic assets, as well as advising on establishing and running family offices in the UK and overseas.

She has experience of establishing private collective investment structures for international families, advising business owners on tax implications of becoming a UK resident, and handling international tax investigations and voluntary disclosures (including HMRC Code 9 investigations).
