Spear's Review

When Aastha Gurbax joined Goldman Sachs in 2024 after a 13-year tenure at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, her focus was on offering her clientele a platform that was ‘semi-institutionalised and suited to retail and sophisticated clients alike’. She tells Spear’s that since her move, she has spent the last year growing her client book and ensuring clients’ wealth management needs are met. 

‘We don’t come in as a part provider,’ she says. ‘We’re holistic wealth managers that can actively listen and help our clients take advantage of uncommon opportunities we have seen.’

Gurbax also works closely with families navigating intergenerational wealth transfer. ‘[You have to] find that commonality between the first-gen and the next-gen,’ she says. ‘There’s a journey they need to make together for that transfer to be practical, palatable and trustworthy over time.’
