Simon Coombes has been based in the Midlands since 1996, when he relocated from London as part of his role at Coutts. That decision – to embed himself in a region rather than service it from afar – has defined a career now approaching its fourth decade.

He joined Goldman Sachs in 2006 and was named managing director in 2017. Today he co-heads one of the bank’s UK private wealth teams, focusing on entrepreneurs and business owners with strong regional connections to the Midlands and the North. He also sits on Goldman’s Private Wealth Management Advisors Council for EMEA.

The depth of his local networks, built over three decades of living and working in the region, is the foundation on which his client relationships are built.
