Emma Jordan
Spear’s Review
Emma Jordan heads up the contentious trusts team at Taylor Wessing, with her practice encompassing civil fraud, and asset tracing and recovery within the context of offshore trusts and structures.
She has a particular focus on representing trustees and high-net-worth clients, and encourages alternative dispute resolution – including mediation – when appropriate.
Jordan’s cases often involve a cross-border or international element, and she has been involved in precedent-setting litigation, such as the ‘Z Trust’ case, which provided clarity on what happens when a trust becomes insolvent, and the entitlement of a former trustee to the assets of that trust.
Dual qualified as an English barrister and a Jersey advocate, Jordan is also able to represent clients in the Jersey courts.
Adviser Profile
Emma leads our contentious trusts team in the UK. She’s described by clients as a commercially astute adviser with a formidable reputation for trust litigation work. Emma is often sought out by clients for the most complex, high-value and contentious pieces of trust litigation.
Emma is the only English trust adviser who is dual qualified as an English barrister and a Jersey advocate, allowing her to represent clients in the Jersey Courts directly whilst also being a partner of Taylor Wessing LLP.
Her practice covers civil fraud work, asset-tracing and recovery within the context of offshore trusts and structures, and alternative dispute resolution strategies including mediation.
