As an English-qualified solicitor based in Dubai, Tasleem Sayani of Stephenson Harwood advises private clients on the legal aspects of tax, probate and wills according to UAE law.

Her clientele is a mix of high-profile GCC natives and UHNWs moving to the region from the UK. ‘Some clients will already have structures in place which are based offshore in Jersey, the Isle of Man or Switzerland, and they’re looking to relocate them to the UAE,’ she tells Spear’s. 

‘There are definitely more people coming in,’ Sayani notes when asked if the UK’s non-dom policy changes have impacted her workload.

One recent success involves securing one of the earliest UAE Inheritance Orders under new legislation, which created a precedent for equality between genders when it comes to asset distribution.
