While the UK welcomes overseas investors, there are rules that individuals and corporates might not have experienced in their home countries; Mohammad’s role is to smooth the process.
‘The issue is enabling the investors to understand what they need to do, because it’s quite regulated, often in a different way to how it’s done in their original jurisdiction,’ she said. ‘Then, almost all of them want to do things in a Sharia-compliant manner, and some want to go through family offices.’
