Barton advises on complex estate administration and tax planning matters, with particular expertise in elderly client law. Her day-to-day casework covers wills, trusts, powers of attorney, Court of Protection matters and probate, as well as cross-border estate issues.

A graduate of Durham University, she qualified at Dawsons before joining Hunters in 2004, where she became a partner five years later.

Lara is a Partner in the Private Client department at Hunters Law. She has substantial experience of advising in relation to wills, trusts, powers of attorney, Court of Protection matters, probate and estate administration, including complex areas of expertise and cross-border matters. Her work has a particular focus on older client law issues, providing legal assistance to older and vulnerable people. In addition, Lara has an interest in art and cultural heritage law. Her work also involves supervising other members of the Private Client team in relation to the full range of private client work, including probate. Lara is recommended in The Legal 500 UK 2023 for Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate.
