With a knack for complex and high-value divorce and financial remedy proceedings (often involving complex trust structures), Jessie Smith is a highly regarded senior associate in the Howard Kennedy family team. 

In this work, Smith engages frequently with external experts, including counsellors and psychotherapists, to ensure her clients’ needs are met in the most holistic way possible. She tells Spear’s that her career has seen a move ‘towards extremely complex cases — on children and finances — involving detailed analysis and summary of decades of evidence, dozens of companies or assets in several jurisdictions’. She also frequently advises international couples on pre- and post-nuptial agreements.

She is a member of Resolution and was recently appointed as the secretary of the International Bar Association Family Law Committee.
