When Reece Johnson embarked on his career in family law, it wasn’t the product of a childhood dream but rather a serendipitous call from a headhunter. ‘I’d never considered family law before, but I set up the interview and I’ve been here ever since,’ he says.

Since joining Vardags in 2018, Johnson has worked on a diverse caseload, from complex financial disputes to emotionally charged children law matters. He prides himself on thorough preparation, often diving deep into ‘thousand-page case materials’ to find winning strategies.

Beyond his cases, Johnson is passionate about training junior lawyers, and he strives to encourage openness and learning through mistakes. ‘When trainees feel less stressed, they perform better,’ he says.
