Based in Vardags’ Manchester office, where she has worked since 2016, Nikki Corrie (née Hale) supports a range of HNW clients.

Around 80 per cent of her cases concern financial matters – clients often have assets of up to £20 million, she tells Spear’s – and her practice does include some children work. 

Over the past few years, prenups have risen in popularity, she says. While previously there tended to be ‘the odd few here and there’, which were constructed predominantly for international HNWs, Corrie has seen many more agreements drafted by those based in the UK. Given that most HNWs have already undertaken legal advice when drafting these agreements, she notes that she has dealt with ‘fewer challenges as to duress or undue hardship, or [prenups] not being entered into properly’. 

‘It’s about where circumstances have changed,’ Corrie adds. ‘It’s an element of family law that’s a bit grey.’
