Family law partner Nicola Jones works with a variety of clients, including those who may not have traditionally fallen within Vardags’ remit. This includes a number of entrepreneurs and business owners, she says, who often benefit from understanding the worth of their assets – something the firm’s internal team of valuers is well equipped to help with.

Over recent years, Jones’s client base has expanded, and she has acted in multi-million pound divorce cases involving financial remedy and children matters. 

On the private law side, cases are becoming more complicated, she explains. ‘It’s very rare you’ll get cases now where it’s simply a matter of the amount of time a child spends with each parent. It tends to be that you’re getting cases either where one party is looking to relocate, either internally or internationally, or you’ve got safeguarding issues.’
