Schillings partner Jenny Afia is regularly sought out by the highest-profile clients. Having represented the likes of Johnny Depp and the Duchess of Sussex, to name just two examples, she has a wealth of experience handling the biggest privacy and reputation cases on the biggest stage.

With privacy threats coming from more and more sources, Afia, who leads Schillings’ entertainment practice, often sits down with her clients to see where preventative steps can be taken. She says: ‘We map out what their business and residential arrangements are and what events they have coming up, and look at the areas where it’s most likely that private information could leak. And then we recommend measures to plug any holes.’

Her precautionary stance extends out of the office: Afia is an advocate for stronger protection for children online and is a trustee of Common Sense Media UK. The non-profit aims to improve the lives of children living in a digital world by providing age-appropriate media recommendations, educational resources to improve digital literacy, and research on the impact of media on children.
