Since becoming partner in 2019, Ben Hobbs has continued to break new ground at Schillings.

Hobbs advises a rich mix of clients – including hedge funds, CEOs, business leaders, entrepreneurs and public figures – on reputational crises and opportunities, often via their general counsel or family office. ‘They want to show their principal that they are on top of everything, have considered all risks and have the right specialists on board. If I can help make them look good, I’m happy.’

He applied for and obtained a training contract at Schillings in 2008 after learning of its reputation. ‘When I talked to people about media law, Keith Schilling’s name repeatedly arose,’ he says. ‘From then, there was only ever one firm I wanted to work at.’

Hobbs splits his time between London and Dublin, and is qualified to practice in both English and Welsh, and Irish jurisdictions.
