Tim Ramsey
Spear’s Review
As a partner at Schillings, Tim Ramsey MBE advises UHNW individuals and corporations facing ‘high-stakes issues’. He provides long-term communications strategies to clients through a three-step solution: ‘audit, improve and optimise’.
Before joining Schillings, Ramsey advised governments in the United Kingdom, the Middle East and the United States as part of BIT (the Behavioural Insights Team). He also has experience in cybersecurity and open-source intelligence and has an advanced degree in behavioural science, which he uses to develop strategies for clients.
Ramsey is able to build strong, interdisciplinary teams to deal with the most complex reputational issues. He tells Spear’s that ‘the most effective approach is to try and create a system which enables people to protect security or privacy by default’.
In 2016, Ramsey founded Just Like Us, a charity supporting LGBT+ young people. He received an MBE for his contribution to education and LGBT equality in 2021.
Adviser Profile
When handling high-stakes opportunities and threats – where time is a commodity frequently in short supply – Tim is renowned as a trusted strategic adviser for clients. As a social entrepreneur and former principal adviser and head of MENA at the Behavioural Insights Team, Tim has advised governments and individuals in the UK and overseas on communications campaigns, crisis management and organisational decision-making. With expertise extending into the ever more business-critical fields of cyber security and intelligence, and as Schillings’ first Arabic-speaking partner, Tim enhances the firm’s reach as it grows its increasingly global and multi-jurisdictional matters.
