White-collar crime specialist Ian Ryan has more than a quarter-century worth of experience handling matters of business crime and serious fraud.

The head of Howard Kennedy’s business crime team runs an international practice that has seen him represent clients in investigations by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), the Financial Conduct Authority, the Competition and Markets Authority, HMRC, the Crown Prosecution Service and the National Crime Agency.

Ryan lends his expertise to both individual and corporate clients on high-profile, complex and serious fraud, financial crime and regulatory work.

Recent highlights include successfully defending Martin Blackburn in the Gary Senior case at the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (2020) and Andreas Hauschild (2019) at trial. He has also been involved in the SFO investigations into Patisserie Valerie, GSK and Tesco.
