Urvi Shah is a director and co-head of UK international investment distribution at Barclays Private Bank & Wealth Management, focused on providing bespoke wealth and investment advice to clients in Africa and the Middle East.

These clients tend to be families with generational wealth who are seeking to establish offshore ‘nest eggs’ due to political uncertainty in their home country, and Shah is experienced in offshore investments and other international solutions. ‘Preservation is a very key priority [for clients]’ she tells Spear’s. ‘Ultimately, we start with a blank sheet of paper and try to shape what their objectives are and then break them down into investment solutions.’

Shah first joined Barclays in 2008, and then held roles at Standard Chartered and UBS before rejoining Barclays in 2018. In the years since, Shah has built a reputation for driving investment ideas, initiatives and product adoption within the bank.
