Rupert Elwes co-heads the private client arm of W1M, the firm created from the 2024 merger of Waverton Investment Management and London & Capital. He joined Waverton in 2001 as a director and was promoted in 2019 to his current role, where he primarily looks after international clients with trusts, offshore bond funds and offshore trust structures with international tax considerations. 

Elwes is also a member of the firm’s management committee. He developed and led its offshore service and continues to manage ‘a broad range’ of offshore and onshore portfolios, according to the firm.

The Exeter University geography graduate gained investment experience at INVESCO Asset Management and Ely Fund Managers. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), having passed the CISI Diploma.
