Spear’s Review
‘We don’t chase the highs,’ says Rose Masaka of the investment approach of W1M (the firm formed from the merger of Waverton and London & Capital in 2024). ‘Ensuring the wealth is preserved; that’s the main goal … [And] trying to navigate a world where there’s so much uncertainty and volatility, but also trying to deliver a high-quality service.’
Masaka, who serves as head of US portfolio management at W1M, specialises in working with clients that are ‘US connected in some way’, for whom she takes ‘a complete view of all assets across all jurisdictions’. She assists with estate planning, gifting and setting up trusts and investment vehicles, all while keeping abreast of the ever-shifting global tax landscape.
Next-generation wealth planning is a large part of her offering. She tells Spear’s: ‘We can help a family, from the person who has made money all the way down to grandchildren, and for us that is really important.’
