As an investment director at Rathbones, James Goodhew leads a five-person team which together manages ‘more than £500 million of client portfolios’.

Goodhew has been at Rathbones since he joined as a graduate trainee in 2004; over 20 years later, he is a long-standing member of its diversifiers research committee. Goodhew is primarily responsible for managing investment portfolios worth more than £1 million, and he is well thought of among his peers as knowledgeable and reliable. He thinks equally highly of Rathbones itself.

‘It is a fantastic company. It’s managed to stay independent despite great change, and that’s so important, because you can put the clients first, with as little disturbance as possible,’ he says.
