Oliver Kersh

Spear’s Review

‘At Citi, we want to be part of our clients’ wider advisory teams,’ says Oliver Kersh, a managing director at the private bank. ‘The culture resonated with me. We don’t pitch ourselves simply as salespeople, but as advisers.’

Kersh joined the bank in 2014 after a 10-year tenure at Morgan Stanley, drawn by Citi’s client-first approach. ‘Citi is a very large organisation,’ he says. ‘There are benefits to our clients in regards to our touchpoints and global footprint. We endeavour to make clients core and central to our decision-making process.’

Kersh typically works with large complex families based in the UK, HNW individuals and tech entrepreneurs. He says that his clients appreciate the manner in which he represents their interests — something he believes to be a pivotal quality in a wealth manager. ‘I feel my job is to represent my clients in the organisation – not just representing Citi to my clients.’
