Louise Hartley, managing director and senior team leader at Citi Private Bank, is the most senior female wealth manager in the UK team, with more than two decades’ experience in the industry. Her clients share a high level of professional success, with many of them entrepreneurs, founders, hedge fund managers and private equity professionals.

Hartley notes that while some people have left the UK due to changes in tax policy, including some of her clients, they remain loyal to the bank owing to Citi’s global reach.

‘No matter where our clients decide to move to or reorganise where they live, we can service them seamlessly – that is what is brilliant about our truly global service,’ she tells Spear’s.

Multigenerational wealth planning is at the forefront of many clients’ minds, Hartley says, which requires her to take a holistic approach. ‘I’ve done a lot of reflection with my clients, thinking about their families’ values and how they can ensure their wealth is sustained over generations.’
