For James Haythornthwaite, a wealth manager at Citi Private Bank, preserving and growing the wealth of his clients is a priority. Many of his clients have an international investment perspective, and while he pays attention to the promise of multiple jurisdictions, he sees America as a long-term play.

‘We believe that the US is the predominant profit engine for companies globally,’ he tells Spear’s.

Haythornthwaite, who has been with Citi for 15 years, says he meets his clients’ needs with a carefully curated, bespoke investment plan for each individual and family.

‘We believe the right strategy is remaining invested, building globally diversified portfolios with a mixture of asset classes,’ he says. ‘Owing to the size of client I typically deal with, the size of their wealth typically dwarfs anything they could need in terms of liquidity.’
