James Heddle is managing director and head of the UHNW desk at Citi Private Bank, where he has been since 2010.

As one of five UHNW team leads, Heddle looks after a number of billionaire clients, alongside single- and multi-family offices and entrepreneurs, amounting to a client book valued at over $1 billion. His approach, he tells Spear’s, is much more ‘advisory led,’ rather than ‘product push’; his team can afford to grow relationships organically.

Heddle values Citi's global reach, noting that all of his clients are global citizens in some shape, and their ability to actively engage with local branches is a real value-add. Indeed, he is at home with this outlook, having previously held the position of desk head of the Americas and the UK res/non-dom UHNW practice at HSBC Global Private Banking.
