Sotheby’s International Realty has more than 1,000 offices around the world, recording £112 billion in annual sales. 

The UK operation was acquired by George Azar in 2023, and he immediately set about transforming it, having previously acquired the Sotheby’s real estate franchises in Dubai and Saudi Arabia. His investment in the firm – which included luring prominent agents such as Becky Fatemi and Marcus O’Brien from other firms – and laser focus on London’s prime and super-prime property markets have helped it to achieve revenue of £1.2 billion for 2024. 

High-value deals that year include a £22.5 million home in Marylebone and a £33 million townhouse in Belgravia. The firm also won the Grand Prix – Private Client Firm of the Year award at the 2024 Spear’s Awards, with Fatemi taking the Property Broker of the Year prize.
