A former managing director of Barclays’ wealth advisory group, Jonathan Burt of Harbottle & Lewis has over 25 years’ experience advising HNW individuals on subjects such as succession planning, tax compliance and multi-jurisdictional investment structures. 

Burt has particular expertise when it comes to advising UK resident non-domiciled individuals on their assets both in and outside the UK. He often advises clients on how their assets and trust structures should be managed throughout the various life cycle stages of a family and its businesses. 

He explains that his clients are ‘looking for practical solutions to the efficient structuring of their investments,’ and that ‘getting them to understand the outcome of a complicated area of tax law is a rare skill’.

Although the vast majority of his work contains a cross-border element, most of his clients have a UK connection.
