With a specialism in tax and succession planning for UK and international clients, Chauhan’s current practice focuses on HNW and UHNW families. She has particular experience of US-UK estate and tax planning, and has acted for many clients exposed to both countries’ tax regimes.

The nature of her advice very much depends on the individual. ‘Sometimes this will be simple: clients will come to me with a straightforward request, and I will use the law to deliver,’ she says. ‘At other times, it will be anything but simple: I will work with the client to identify their goals.’

Chauhan’s interest in cross-border succession planning was born from her first ‘multi-billion, multi-jurisdiction’ probate case.
