Jonathan Leach

Spear’s Review

In the latest of a series of high-level changes at Citi Private Bank, Jonathan Leach was named head of UK and Jersey in May 2025, succeeding Jeremy Knowland.

Leach, who officially took up his position in June, has been with the bank for 20 years. Over his career he has held a number of leadership roles at Citi in New York and London, including global head of investment and client solutions and, most recently, head of investment advisory for the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

His appointment comes amid group CEO Jane Fraser’s efforts to conduct a major restructuring of the Wall Street bank to drive profits and streamline processes. James Holder, head of the bank across the UK, Europe and the Middle East has said Leach ‘has a deep understanding of Citi private bank strategies, the regulatory and compliance landscape and the broader wealth management industry, all of which will be essential to further accelerating the business’.
