Abu Dhabi-based Gemma Farrell (née Pugh) joined the ranks at Sotheby’s International Realty in 2023 following roles at a boutique London agency and at Knight Frank, where she spent nearly seven years.

She tells Spear’s she appreciates the cachet a well-known brand like Sotheby’s has with UHNW and international buyers, and the personal agency the organisation gives her. ‘I just love it; I’m having the best time,’ she says.

She adds that there’s a perception among outsiders that the property world can be ‘very dog-eat-dog’, but in reality there’s a highly collegiate culture at the firm.

Since her move to the Middle East in 2025, Farrell has been specialising in the sale of super-prime residences at the Four Seasons Private Residences on Saadiyat Island.
