Sundeep Rathod moved to Edwin Coe in 2021, having established the immigration department at media specialists Simons Muirhead Burton.

He identifies two strands to his immigration work: a thriving media and entertainment practice, and business owners and entrepreneurs wanting to relocate to the UK. 

His team assists with the requirements of investors coming to the UK, including setting up British extensions of existing companies, launching new businesses and establishing a presence through innovator founder visas. His media clients include actors from Marvel films and highly successful writers, directors and producers. Rathod tells Spear’s the Edwin Coe immigration team is often the first point of contact for clients, who then engage with the firm’s other services. ‘We need to get it right to allow them into the UK, and then we facilitate corporate, employment, private client and tax teams,’ he explains.

In addition to global talent visas, Rathod assists with spousal relocation, complex nationality issues and EU settlement schemes. He is particularly well versed in complex nationality applications for children born outside of the UK to British citizens.
