Hetal Sanghvi, head of the India desk at Edwin Coe, caters to two unique but significant wealthy client bases: Indian HNWs based in the UK and global Indian families with UK connections.

‘It’s my onshore understanding of the Indian tax points that often lends itself to my niche specialism there,’ she tells Spear’s, adding that she understands the ‘cultural nuances of joint family situations’.

Sanghvi not only undertakes tax advisory work, she also supports with succession planning as well as complex wealth structuring across borders. However, she maintains that she does not solely focus on tax advice without putting this into the context of each client’s needs. It’s about ‘being practical about the advice, explaining the advice in an easy to understand way, and thinking about the commercial aspect as well as just pure advice’, she says.
