Mark McAndrew

Spear’s Review

A country boy at heart, Mark McAndrew of Strutt & Parker only ever intended to stay in the big city for three years. Three decades later, he’s still working in central London, albeit wearing a farm-ready khaki gilet as head of the firm’s national estates and farm agency department.

McAndrew’s clients come ‘from home and abroad’ and are primarily millionaires and billionaires who wish to purchase country estates between £5 million and £50 million. ‘These buyers tend to be fantastic custodians of the countryside,’ he says. ‘They’re into environmental issues and they’re taking these estates down environmentally friendly routes.’

Notable transactions include the sale of Groombridge Place (which McAndrew has sold four times), the country home that appeared in the version of Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightley.
