Helen Greenfield of Family Law in Partnership (FLiP) advises on the full spectrum of issues stemming from divorce and family breakdown, with a particular specialism in complex finances and cases involving domestic abuse.

Many of her clients, despite being UHNW and highly successful, have experienced controlling or coercive relationships. As a result, they may have little knowledge of, or access to, certain assets or finances. ‘There are so many complications, even when doing simple things like disclosure,’ she explains. ‘In some cases, [clients] are shareholders in a company and have tax returns filed in their name, without them knowing.’

Greenfield recognises the importance of emotional as well as legal support. ‘At FLiP, we have in-house therapists,’ she says. ‘They are key in a lot of my cases because they give clients another outlet and emotional support.’

Her work frequently involves complex offshore assets across multiple jurisdictions, including Russia, Pakistan and the Middle East.
