Hayley Robinson

Spear’s Review

Private banker Hayley Robinson joined Weatherbys Private Bank in Edinburgh in 2016 to support the firm’s expansion in Scotland, having previously worked at the Bank of Scotland. She advises clients across the country, from the Highlands to the central belt, acting as a dedicated point of contact for wealthy families.

She tells Spear’s she provides a ‘holistic service’, combining day-to-day banking with lending and investment advice, supported by Weatherbys’ Level 6 qualified private bankers.

Her recent work has been particularly focused on helping clients ‘adapt’ in response to changes in the UK’s tax regime, with many ‘revisiting a lot of their financial plans’. Robinson highlights a shift in pension planning, with clients increasingly choosing to spend rather than preserve them. She also notes rising pressure in Scotland around estates and agriculture, particularly linked to land reform, and says she has been involved in educational events to help clients navigate the ongoing changes.

Adviser Profile

Hayley has been with Weatherbys Private Bank since 2016 and is based at the bank’s Scotland office in Edinburgh.

In her role as a private banker, Hayley manages a highly diverse portfolio of clients, from entrepreneurs to land owners (primarily in Scotland but also located across the UK), providing bespoke and personalised advice on their banking, lending and investment-related requirements. She is often found on the road – from Thurso in the north of Scotland to Dumfries in the south – visiting clients.

Hayley has played a key role in the growth of the Weatherbys Scotland office, having joined the bank just a year after the bank opened its first office in Edinburgh in 2015. In 2024, Weatherbys opened an additional office just two doors down from its initial Rutland Square office to meet its growing needs.

Hayley has accumulated significant professional qualifications including CeMAP and IAD. She is also a qualified mortgage adviser and a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments. Testament to her expertise and accomplishments within private banking, Hayley has been recognised within the Spear’s 500 for the past three years.

Weatherbys Private Bank is part of the seventh-generation firm Weatherbys, an independent family-owned British business with a long history of careful stewardship and responsible management. It looks after its clients and their families, many of whom have valued its services for generations. Its clients recognise its values of integrity, trust, responsiveness and respect, which are synonymous with its brand and deeply embedded into its culture.
