Oliver Barnett joined Weatherbys as a director in 2017. In 2023, he became head of private clients at the bank – named UK Private Bank of the Year at the 2023 and 2024 Spear’s Awards.

A half-decade turn as an officer in the British Army early in his career helped Barnett to develop ‘an analytical and versatile mind’ and interpersonal skills. Now at the forefront of Weatherbys’ London team, Barnett’s talents have been put to good use, and he sees a bright future for the private bank.

‘What we try to do is take all the best bits of our heritage and our longevity; we want to be here for another seven generations,’ he tells Spear’s. ‘But at the same time, we do need to stay relevant. It’s really important to balance both the good from the past and the exciting from the future.’
