‘The traditional view of property lawyers is that we’re a bit stuffy, old-fashioned and sometimes difficult to deal with,’ says Simon Nosworthy, head of residential property at Osbornes Law. ‘But I think I’m a friendly, approachable person – the kind you can speak to on the phone and think, “He was helpful.”’

Nosworthy’s approach to his work is characteristically built on positivity. He tells Spear’s that his New Year’s resolution is to remain optimistic at all times, particularly when it comes to the economy and the property market.

In that spirit, he believes the current climate presents a strong opportunity for buyers. ‘It’s never been a better time to be a buyer,’ he says. ‘Buyers can go in, negotiate and take control now.’ His client base – ranging from first-time buyers to seasoned investors purchasing £10 million homes – is already seeing an uptick in higher-value transactions.
