The newest addition to the Wedlake Bell family is Sophie St John, who joined in September 2025 from Broadfield.

St John provides HNW clients, their families and trustees with advice on a wide range of legal and tax issues. These include estate and succession planning, lasting powers of attorney, and wealth holding and preservation structures such as trusts. 

In a press release, St John praises Wedlake Bell’s ‘collaborative culture’: ‘Strengths across property, tax and corporate law make it the perfect platform to deliver integrated advice to the internationally connected families that I often work with.’ 

She tells Spear’s that changes to UK tax legislation have ‘turned my practice on its head’. Many of her clients are eager to see the impact that these new laws will have on their affairs, and are coming from all over the world to do so.

‘What the clients I work with appreciate is we do our best to make what is a very complicated world as user-friendly and as accessible as possible for them,’ she says.
