Spear’s Review

Paul Ayres, the national head of private client services for BDO and 2024 Spear’s Awards winner, advises clients on all aspects of their tax affairs. This can include overseeing tax filing in the UK and abroad, guiding clients through estate planning matters and generally ensuring they optimise their tax position. 

His clients are mainly entrepreneurs who approach him for assurance on their tax obligations – for example, regarding domicile and residence issues and real estate transactions in London – and Ayres often collaborates with clients’ other advisers.

Ayres’ main goal is to deliver a coherent strategy to help his sophisticated clientele balance their complex affairs and ‘achieve their long-term personal and business goals’.
