Paul Townson is a corporate and private client tax specialist, working with entrepreneurs in the Midlands from BDO’s sizeable Birmingham office.
He tells Spear’s: ‘I work across the corporate and the private client space, but the theme is entrepreneurs. People who’ve made their own money. My typical client these days is probably making a couple of million a year and owns their own business, or their parents owned theirs, so succession planning [is a focus] as well. It’s that succession and family governance piece; wrapping the wealth to make sure that it’s a force for good in the family.’
