Wakeling began his career at Coutts in 2001, and subsequently joined HSBC Global Private Banking as a relationship executive in 2008. He began working at Henley & Partners as a manager in 2016, before rising through the ranks to become managing director in 2021.

As Managing Partner of the Henley & Partners UK office and a member of the Private Client Management Board, Stuart leads a multi-national team that has a strong focus on HNWIs in the UK, along with managing the West African teams and strategy. He has swiftly risen up through the ranks at Henley & Partners to become a private client specialist in residence and citizenship planning. His work targets countries that are deemed most attractive to wealthy clients in terms of mobility, security, privacy, personal tax and estate planning, as well as lifestyle. 

Prior to joining Henley & Partners, Stuart had a successful Private Banking career, allowing him to create a large international Private Client network, which he is still very active in and which enables him to create new opportunities via his business development work. Upon joining Henley 8 years ago, Stuart was responsible for developing the West African operations for Henley & Partners, which saw business increase by over 1,000%. 

Stuart is a very active speaker at industry and wealth management events and is considered a thought leader on investment migration. He regularly provides commentary on the Henley & Partners publications, and has been interviewed in print and on live TV in Africa and on British radio. Stuart is regularly quoted across various worldwide media outlets and relentlessly busy within London’s Private Client world.
