Duncan MacIntyre

Spear’s Review

Duncan MacIntyre, UK regional head at Lombard Odier, is proud of his client-facing role, a rare trait among the frontmen of larger institutions. ‘Being a distant manager is not what tells you how your business is running or how your clients are feeling,’ he tells Spear’s. ‘Speaking with clients is absolutely the fun bit, and nobody is taking it away from me.’

MacIntyre’s career has included spells at blue-chip names such as Fleming’s, JP Morgan and Coutts, where he founded the Coutts Private Office. He took the top job at Lombard Odier in 2016 and became responsible for the bank’s global UK business arm in 2019. He’s proud of Lombard Odier’s industry-leading digital platform ‘My LO’, noting that the ‘diagnostic capability’ of the tool means ‘clients can see what’s going on, down to the individual stock levels’.

Adviser Profile

Duncan has over 30 years of experience at the forefront of the private client wealth industry. Prior to joining Lombard Odier, he worked at JP Morgan, Flemings and Coutts, where he founded and was a global head of Coutts Private Office, managing ultra-high-net-worth clients around the world.
